The Gordons Corner Fire Company offers the opportunity for the rewarding and challenging position of volunteer firefighter for those who wish to make a difference in our community. Interested individuals are invited to come to the firehouse any Wednesday at 7pm to learn more!

All necessary training and equipment are provided at no cost to the members. 

Available opportunities to choose from:

Probationary / Active Firefighter:
For adults 18 and over who wish to be involved in all aspects of firefighting. Prior to becoming an Active Member, a NJ State Firefighter I course has to be completed. All costs associated with the Firefighter I course will be at no cost to the member. Secific duty requirements will be discussed with you during the application process.

Junior Firefighter Program:
This program is designed for young adults ages 16 to 18. Under supervision, you will receive training and develop the skills necessary to advance to full firefighter duty at the age of 18.

Fire Police:
As a Fire Police Officer you will assist in traffic management, crowd control, and general assistance at emergency scenes and non-emergency community events. Candidates are required to take fire academy courses to be certified as NJ State Fire Police.

Basic Requirements:

• At least 16 years of age
• Citizen of the United States
• Completion of a Membership Application
• Successful Criminal Background Check
• Pass a Medical Physical

Auxilary:
If you are a resident of the town looking for a way to give back, but not sure if becoming a firefighter is for you, this may be the perfect volunteer opportunity. The function of the Auxiliary is for the purpose of aiding and raising funds for the fire company. They are recognized as an Auxiliary of the Fire Company. Auxiliary members are allowed to assist the Fire Company at work calls and fire company functions, but will not be allowed to participate in firematic activities (training, drills, calls).
